I just got a new cat and I wasn’t sure what she would like so I ordered… a LOT of scratchers. Once I found out she prefers carboard scratchers… I ordered a lot more! This one looks the nicest by far so I figured it was just wishful thinking that she would like it. When it came it seemed to be much stiffer cardboard than the other scratcher she had been using so I thought that might be a problem. But I put it in our bedroom anyway, and was pleasantly surprised to wake up to the sound of her scratching on this instead of on the doorframes! The frame looks wooden in pictures but it is actually also made of cardboard but with some sort of coating on it. It still looks very nice and feels really sturdy, and it is very lightweight. The top of the board “attaches” to the sides with pieces of velcro in the four corners–but mine only had velcro in three of the corners. It doesn’t seem to be a problem though and it is still holding together well.An unexpected bonus is that the catnip that came with this seems particularly good! The other scratchers came with catnip that was in pretty big chunks and when I tried sprinkling them on the scratchers my cat had no interest. This ‘nip was super finely ground and it drove my cat wild. Two things to note: 1) it’s so finely ground that when I open the package to pour some out there’s like a little puff cloud of catnip haha, and 2) you can’t really see it when you pour it on the board so I think I put way too much on the first time! I would recommend pouring it into your hand and then rubbing that on the board.I kind of want to return all the other things I bought and just put one of these in every room, but it looks like the price has gone up a bit from when I first purchased. I’ll keep my eye on this and will likely buy more in the future. I would definitely recommend it.

I purchased a scratching post (fabric) from one of the local pet stores and my kittens have loved. I have ordered a few scratching post “alternatives” from Amazon and they seem to be left alone … no interest from my munchkins. I decided to try this one guess what … A Fan Was Born!!! My trio became so curious when I put it out and they began to make bids on who it belongs to. Too cute.Initially I got this for my lil Sassy Girl but it appears they ALL want a piece of the action :)The product is easy to put together (under a minute) and aesthetically adds to the home decor. It is stable and does not tip over.

We had one of the colorful cheaper looking incline scratchers and the cardboard was shredded to pieces and it wasn’t worth getting a refill for. Next to it was a “mid-century modern” cat cardboard scratcher bed LOL. Naturally they (2 cats) prefer an incline. I ordered this to replace both old scratchers and they LOVE it! Yay! The fact that it’s made out of safe, recycled material is a huge plus. For being recycled paperboard, or zBoard, it’s really sturdy and took seconds to slide together. It’s designed and made well, you can really tell! I thought the wood pattern was going to look super fake and cheap but it honestly doesn’t! We got the black – I wish the dark brown were in stock. For the incredibly reasonable price, I would totally get another. Also, the catnip powder (which I feel as though I’ve never seen!) was 100% kitty crack. And less messy – I’d like to find more! Oh, also the actual scratcher part is a stiffer cardboard which gives me hope it will last longer and not be too messy. Not sponsored, just a legitimately impressed cat person!

The media could not be loaded. This is a marvelous scratcher! My girl highly approves of it, great price, and nice looking. I am going to Velcro it to the wall, so she won’t tip it because it’s not very heavy, and she is a vigorous scratcher! Silvervine cat nip is a powder so it filters well into the scratch board, and she also highly rated that!!

The packaging was great, the product is beautifully made and super easy to assemble in 1 minute and the catnip was of great quality! My cats went crazy for it! But full disclosure: I found out my cats do not care for or didn’t “get” the angle. I didn’t know there was such a thing, but apparently they are not “angle scratchers”. That is, they prefer full horizontal or full vertical scratchers so I just thought I’d add this piece of info. It’s definitely not the product’s fault, obviously! :D

This is, without a doubt, the nicest cat scratcher I’ve gotten for my cats. First, it’s quite attractive. The frame comes in a multiple of colors so you can get the one that fits your space. Second, the frame is made of zBoard, a recycled paper product that is strong, made without formaldehyde or VOC, and is easy to assemble. Third, the actual scratching surface is corrugated cardboard that is quite strong. I can tell that the scratching surface will last, because my Bengal cat is an aggressive scratcher and he hasn’t even made a dent in the surface.I highly recommend this product, and the company Way Basics. They make quality items that I believe anyone would be pleased to own.

My cat is a senior (about 13 years) with arthritis in her front legs. I conceal her litter box in a piece of furniture where the opening is about six inches off the floor, so I’ve been trying out different incline scratchers and ramps to make access easier on her. So far, this one has worked best while also blending in with my modern home aesthetic. Super easy to put together, and my kitty enjoys scratching this even in passing, not just using the litter box.

I agree with the previous poster that this cat scratch pad lasts for a long time. We’ve used this since March and I am now about to reorder a replacement. This is compared to the usual cardboard pads bought from the store, which usually last for a week or two each side. Our cat has used both sides of the insert over the past 7 months and it is still holding together, but I’m looking to order this again since our cat has just started returning to scratching our expensive rug. Otherwise: the angle of this scratcher seems appropriate for our cat. She sometimes climbs on it to scratch head downwards or just uses her front paws from a sitting position. A MAJOR PLUS: this holds together, i.e. You won’t find as much or any cardboard scratchings littering the floor around the pad. This cardboard is tougher and I think has a finer grain than the typical scratch pads. One thing to note: I’m buying this whole thing again (not just the insert) because our cat has also scratched the frame veneer off (yes, the frame is also of cardboard). But for lasting 7 months that’s still a good deal.

The media could not be loaded. I was a little concerned when I saw the price of this scratcher that it might be cheap and not hold up. I am pleased that it is very sturdy even though it is lightweight. My cats took to it immediately. With other cheaper scratch pads, my cats would immediately tip them over, but this one has not tipped once. I also love that the scratch pad is replaceable. It does slide a bit on my tile floors, so I might get some rubber feet for it.

I received this the other day so I will update later regarding durability but so far so good! I wanted to uploads some pictures to show what you are actually buying. The scratcher holder is quite sturdy and so is the scratcher itself. It feels very compact compared to regular scratchers. Overall I think this is a great option and it looks good as well!
