Unfortunately I’ve had to rely on Capstar a number of times, but it is well worth the money! It works extremely well and absolutely does exactly what it claims it will do. I have small pups and they’ve all tolerated it with no issues. A few things to note-Yes, it will often cause your babies to kind of flip out and act annoyed for a bit. Unless they’re acting lethargic, drooling/foaming at the mouth, seizing, or having balance issues then be calm because it’s doing its job.You truly will notice fleas dropping off your baby within 15-30 minutes and it will continue. The fleas may still be alive at that time, but you’ll see that they’re no longer able to jump and they’re slowly dying. Just be ready to clean up the dead fleas, so keep them confined for a bit or in a small area to make cleanup easier on you. This is NOT a long term solution for flea treatment but it does work incredibly well for short term help when trying to get an infestation under control or if you’re only seeing a few fleas. Just make sure to stay on top of it because they will take over and QUICKLY!

Works like a charm to kill off adult fleas quickly to give your pets relief. Gave to my 75lb black lab mix, quarantined him in the bathroom and found dozens of fleas dead on the floor in within 2 hours. Please note, as some of the reviews seem to misunderstand how these pills work: These pills do NOT kill already laid flea eggs and larva that have not begun to bite. The pills are only intended for killing adult fleas currently on your pets and are not a substitute for longer lasting topical flea/tick medication that’s available from a veterinarian. You will have to do all the standard recommendations for reducing and preventing further flea outbreaks in your home. E.g.: Vacuum or sweep regularly, wash floors+carpeting+bedding, wipe down surfaces that pets frequently brush up against or lay on, regularly brush and bathe your pets, etc.

I cannot express enough how grateful we are for this product. Our dog has had fleas for a month now and we’ve tried flea collars, spraying the dog, spraying all cloth, baths, natural remedies, and flea preventative heart worm. Nothing has gotten rid of the fleas as quickly as this pill!! Within thirty minutes they were FALLING off, which gave us peace of mind knowing our dog was getting some relief. After spending money on other products just to try and reduce the amount of fleas, I wish we’d known about this one first. The fleas pictured above were all off of her within the first four hours. We followed this up with the Bayer flea collar and they haven’t come back!

I bought this for my cat and my dogs. I reviewed the one for my cat, so I will review this one as well.I’ll start by stating that this pill is to kill ADULT fleas on the animal. It’s meant for ONE day. After the 24 hour period I’m pretty sure it’s out of their system and no longer useful. I do think that people misunderstood this for a “monthly” pill. I highly recommend pairing this with a monthly flea drop.We took in a stray cat. And even though I bathed her very throughly, somehow I did not rid her of fleas. Which caused them to spread to my dogs.I gave this to both of my dogs. One of my dogs seemed to have no sign of fleas. But I treated her to be safe. They were given the pill before I went to work. When I came home from work I went to apply the flea drop treatment. While applying the drop treatment, I saw dead fleas on my dog. I only saw one live flea and it was in the process of dying. Now I will say usually my dogs take pills easily. This one they didn’t want to take. One dog I had to try several times and eventually had to put the pill by her back teeth so she would just chew by reflex. My other dog took it just fine with a bit of peanut butter. It’s been about a day or two and I haven’t seen any sign of fleas on them.I would definitely recommend this product.

The pills are easy to crush & mix into wet food. I found it very easy to get my dog & cats to swallow them whole as well. I’ve given it to my 1 dog & 4 cats 3 times over the summer. The fleas get very aggressive & bite which made my poor pup & kitties. They go a little crazy for an hour or so but then they were flea free. I also use Frontline to keep them at bay but we have had a very difficult summer. The dog keeps bringing fleas home after a walk. Cap Star for both dogs & cats is really good but here in Tennessee this summer the fleas & ticks have been really bad.

I live in florida where bugs of all kinds flourish. Until I started using this product, i would flea comb 50 fleas off my dog at a time several times a week. now i give her this product once a week and never see a flea on her. it really works.

Got this to use when I found a few fleas on one of my dogs and cats had a few fleas on them. They all get preventative treatment so I was thinking they came in contact with a flea infested animal. It was also unusually warm this year. Kills the fleas so quickly. Several seemed to be dying when I found them but I wanted to be sure. I think it’s important that this is a 24 hour flea killer for fleas on a pet. It is not preventative. You still have to use a monthly preventive to keep them flea free. I only wish you could by a single tablet instead of a multi pack. Only needed 2 for my cats and 2 for my dogs. Had to buy 12 though. Worth it to prevent the cost and time needed if you get a flea infestation. My vet recommended and uses this for this purpose.

At first after reading some of the reviews and was a little worried about purchasing this product , but after a little investigation and realizing that my dog is just a mutt and isn’t sensitive like some pure breeds I purchased this product. After treating her areas for fleas I gave my dog the tablet. After a few hours fleas were dropping off of her and the constant scratching ended. No sign of dermatitis or any other skin issues on my dog after three days and everyone is very happy.

I have to hide these pills in a treat to get my three Chihuahuas to take them so administering this pill isn’t easy. Once they take them, the fleas die in droves as advertised. It takes several hours for them to start working in my experience. During a flea outbreak, I comb my dogs every day and remove and kill the fleas on them. Once I’ve used Capstar, all the fleas I remove are dead. They also seem to work longer than 24 hours. I’d say two-three days. So that’s kind of a bonus. They aren’t cheap. But I’ve tried the knock off brands and they do not work so don’t try to save money with this product. I use them as part of an overall strategy to deal with a moderate infestation. When Frontline stops working yet it’s too soon to apply it again. I don’t think I’d ever use these every day for a long period of time because of toxicity and cost.

I’ve used this product before when we rescued my fur baby in the photo. He was infested! It did exactly as it claims and worked quickly, in under an hour. Upon the first treatment we were able to watch the fleas jump off of him, I’ve never seen anything like that in my life. We recently moved and to our chagrin all 4 of my dogs picked up fleas. I used Oster flea shampoo available here on Amazon, and that helped, but I also ordered Capstar in the interim of getting the yard treated. This stuff will make you wish you had known about it sooner. Your dog will be forever grateful.
