Bought these for automated shades. Arrived tightly packaged in a cardboard box, no signs of any leakage or wear. New date code, about a month to six weeks prior to my receipt of them. Measured every battery for voltage and internal resistance, every battery measured over 1.6VDC with <50mOhms resistance if memory serves. A good buy.

5/5 RatingProsGreat brand nameKnown to last longLove the quantityConsNoneI have a battery case and it’s full of nothing but Energizer batteries. I’m a firm believer that it’s best to have and not need than to need and not have. I always like preparing for when I do need them. I do this for myself and my Dad as I’ve ordered him extra batteries just in case he needs it.Although I currently don’t have a need for D batteries I’m rest assured I have some for the day I or a neighbor may need them.

Had to grab these because I recently acquired a Hotwheels track set that’s soul purpose is to rocket cars straight up into the air, so it needed a lot of reliable power. I know this battery type comes in a lot of offbrand versions and options for cheaper and older selections but these absolutely did the trick. No damage and batteries appear to be new and ready to go

I have used other batteries in the past, but they did not last very long and they were not as strong as the Energizer batteries so I have come back to them and I will continue to purchase them in the future. They make all of my battery using devices work better and longer than any other battery I have tried!!!

I’m shocked that these D cells I received today are marked MADE IN USA! I wonder if they really are? I didnt think any disposable alkalines were made in US anymore. I tested every one of the 12 and they all had the exact same voltage: 1.63. Thats amazing uniformity across that many cells. They are marked with an expiration date of 12/2030. For a few cents more than Amazon basic D cells, they are a steal.

Of the major brands of alkaline primary batteries I have had far better luck with Energizer than any others. I have been greatly disappointed in the “copper-top” cells. In the C and D sizes (but not AA or AAA) I have found Ray-O-Vac to be pretty good as well. For AA and AAA cells the only major brand I trust these days is Energizer.

I previously posted my concern about reviews about receipt of previously opened boxes and missing, dented and dead batteries. Called Amazon C/S and learned that ad posting offered NEW batteries (for the price I paid) and USED batteries at a discounted price. Seems likely the USED batteries, even with the discount, may be the problem mentioned in the poor reviews. My batteries arrived in the brownish-gray Commercial sales box and had a “New Item” tag. All batteries tested at over 1.6 VDC and we’re new with an expiration date of 12/2029. These 12 Energizer “Max” D Cell are a great deal. If you think not – check out the cost of 12 Lithium D Cell batteries

Maglight Flashlights and Trash Can with Automatic Open. Per battery price vs. quality can’t be beat. After reading the negative reviews, I did a thorough visual and electrical inspection on these 12 D-Cell Batteries. Since most of the negative comments focused on cosmetics and power deficiencies I thought it best to start here.First, I found no cosmetic flaws or dents on any of the 12 Batteries. Secondly, I used a good quality Analog Battery Tester and each tested out with the needle in the “Good” part of the scale. However, I did not stop there and tested each with a Digital VOM (Voltage Ohm Meter) set at 2 VDC for the most precise reading. I was amazed that 11 of the 12 Batteries gave a reading of exactly 1.645V and only one tested less at 1.629V. These very consistent readings give me great confidence in these batteries. Besides this, I have had excellent past success with the Eveready brand and have had some Duracell batteries leak when left in devices for a year or more (I have not had the same experience with Eveready Batteries).

I purchased a 12-pack of D batteries (shipped and sold by Amazon). They arrived in original Energizer packaging. I tested the whole batch and they show they’re fully charged. I placed my order in June 2020 and they have a 12-2030 expiration date. All in all I am happy.NEVER trust a third-party seller with a battery order.

Sometimes you just need a surplus of enormous D-cell batteries. I bought these to power some motion-detection trash lids and they’ve been working for months without any sign of drainage. At this rate, they’ll last almost a decade on their own.Small word of caution: these batteries are HEAVY and I nearly hurt myself opening the package. Make sure that you’re not on the edge of a table when you take these out of the box, they could hurt someone if it fell in the wrong place.
